1994 heiratete Céline Dion René Angélil (1942–2016), mit dem sie drei Söhne hat. Der erste wurde 2001 geboren, 2010 folgten Zwillinge,  die sie nach Nelson Mandela, dem früheren südafrikanischen Präsidenten, und Eddy Marnay, einem ihrer Lieblings-Songwriter, Nelson und Eddy nannte. Am 14. Januar 2016 starb ihr Mann an einem Krebsleiden.  Zwei Tage später starb ihr älterer Bruder ebenfalls an Krebs.

Im Dezember 2022 erklärte Dion, dass sie an der unheilbaren Krankheit Stiff-Person-Syndrom leide und daher die für Februar 2023 geplante Europa-Tournee nicht antreten könne. Im August 2023 gab Dions ältere Schwester Claudette Dion bekannt, dass sich der Gesundheitszustand nicht verbessert habe und bislang kein Medikament für Céline Dion gefunden werden konnte. Die Krankheit beeinträchtige Dion sowohl beim Laufen als auch beim Singen.
